New Muslim path

The 30-Day Journey

One small step a day for your first month. No step takes more than a few minutes, the order is deliberate, and missing days costs you nothing: the journey waits. Tick each day off when it's done; your progress stays on this device.

Your progress 0 of 30

Day 1

The Shahada

Say the Shahada slowly, out loud, and know what it means.

"La ilaha illallah, Muhammadun rasulullah": there is no god but God, and Muhammad is His messenger. This sentence is the whole foundation. Everything else in the next 29 days just unpacks it.

What the words mean →

Day 2

Meet your Lord

Read five of the 99 Names of Allah.

Before the rules, the relationship. Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful), Al-Ghafur (the Ever-Forgiving), Al-Wadud (the Loving). This is who you just committed to.

The 99 Names →

Day 3

Learn wudu

Practise the washing before prayer, once, without rushing.

Eight simple steps, about two minutes. Do it once today even if you don't pray afterwards, just to get it into your hands.

Wudu step by step →

Day 4

Your first prayer

Pray two rakahs using the beginner path. Today, not someday.

Use the guide with the page open in front of you. It will feel clumsy; every Muslim's first prayer did. Allah sees the learning as worship.

The beginner path →

Day 5

Bismillah

Say "Bismillah" before everything you start today.

Meals, work, the car, the kettle. One word, and ordinary life starts becoming worship. This is the habit converts say changed them first.

The phrasebook →

Day 6

Al-Fatiha, lines 1-2

Memorise the first two lines of Al-Fatiha.

You will recite this surah in every prayer for the rest of your life; it's seven short verses. Two today, no pressure. Listen, repeat, walk around saying it.

Memorisation tool →

Day 7

One week in

Pray twice today, and look back at your week.

Seven days a Muslim. If you've wobbled or missed days, that's normal and no cause for guilt: this journey has no failing grade. Rest in that.

Your dashboard →

Day 8

Al-Fatiha, lines 3-4

Add the next two lines of Al-Fatiha.

"Ar-Rahmanir-Rahim. Maliki yawmid-din." Say the four lines you now know in today's prayers, and the placeholder phrases for the rest.

Memorisation tool →

Day 9

The five times

Learn when the five prayers fall, and pray Fajr or Isha.

Look at today's times on the dashboard and notice the rhythm: before sunrise, midday, afternoon, sunset, night. You're not expected to hit all five yet; just learn the map.

Prayer times →

Day 10

Alhamdulillah

Say "alhamdulillah" every time something good happens today.

And once when something bad happens, because Muslims thank Allah in all states. Gratitude is the fastest-working medicine in the religion.

The phrasebook →

Day 11

Al-Fatiha, lines 5-7

Finish memorising Al-Fatiha.

The last three lines are the actual request: guide us. Once you have them, you own the most recited words on earth.

Memorisation tool →

Day 12

Pray with Al-Fatiha

Pray using the full Al-Fatiha, from memory.

Slowly is fine. Reading the transliteration mid-prayer if you blank is fine. This is a milestone: feel it.

The prayer guide →

Day 13

Who was Muhammad ﷺ?

Read three moments from the Seerah.

You've declared him God's messenger; today, meet the man. Start with the mercy at Makkah's conquest and the mended sandals.

The first community →

Day 14

Two weeks in

Aim for three prayers today.

Fajr is the hardest and the sweetest; if it's beyond reach right now, take Dhuhr, Maghrib, and Isha. Consistency over heroics, always.

Prayer log →

Day 15

Halal food basics

Learn the food rules, and check one label.

No pork, no alcohol, and meat matters have some nuance you'll learn today. It's simpler than it looks, and nobody expects perfection while you adjust.

Halal basics →

Day 16

Surah Al-Ikhlas

Memorise Surah Al-Ikhlas (4 lines).

The Prophet ﷺ said it equals a third of the Quran in meaning. It's also your second surah for prayer, so the second rakah stops feeling empty.

Memorisation tool →

Day 17

Sujud is yours

In one prostration today, ask Allah for something in your own words.

The Prophet ﷺ said the servant is closest to Allah in sujud. Your own language is allowed there. Tell Him everything; that's what it's for.

Learn du'as →

Day 18

The tashahhud, part 1

Learn the first half of the tashahhud.

The sitting words of the prayer. Break it into two days; it's the longest text you'll need, and the last big one.

The prayer guide →

Day 19

The tashahhud, part 2

Finish the tashahhud and use it tonight.

With Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, and the tashahhud, you can now pray a complete, unassisted prayer. The scaffolding is coming off.

The prayer guide →

Day 20

Sadaqah

Give a small charity today, quietly.

Money, food, or the Prophet's ﷺ suggestion: a smile, or removing something harmful from a path. Generosity is a pillar-in-waiting; start the habit small.

About giving in Islam →

Day 21

Three weeks in

Aim for four prayers today, and learn what qada means.

Missed prayers get made up, not mourned. The door never shuts. That single fact protects more converts from burnout than any other.

Common questions →

Day 22

Morning dhikr

Say SubhanAllah, alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar 10 times each.

The Prophet ﷺ called these the words most beloved to Allah. Attach them to something you already do daily: the kettle, the commute, brushing your teeth.

Daily adhkar →

Day 23

Meet the community

Find your nearest mosque, and just locate it. Visiting can wait.

You don't have to walk in today. Know where it is, check its Friday prayer time, maybe read the visiting guide so nothing surprises you.

Mosque finder →

Day 24

The Arabic letters

Learn the first five Arabic letters.

Reading the Quran in its own language starts with an alphabet of 28 letters. Five today; you may surprise yourself.

Arabic letters →

Day 25

Your story so far

Read the "telling your family" guide, whether or not you're ready.

When and how to tell people is entirely yours to decide, and hiding your faith while you find your feet is valid. Being prepared lowers the fear.

The guide →

Day 26

Jumu'ah approaches

Learn what Friday prayer is, and consider attending this week.

One congregational prayer a week, about 40 minutes. If you go: arrive with wudu done, follow what everyone does, and know that nobody is watching you as hard as you fear.

What to expect →

Day 27

All five

Today, attempt all five prayers.

You have every word you need now. Set alarms, keep them short, and if one slips, qada it tonight without drama. This is the summit of the month.

Prayer log →

Day 28

Fasting, gently

Read the fasting guide, and try fasting until Dhuhr.

Ramadan will come, and it's easier met in advance. A half-day practice fast (just delay breakfast) teaches you more than any article.

Fasting guide →

Day 29

Your questions

Write down your three biggest unanswered questions and hunt answers for one.

Every Muslim carries questions; scholarship exists because questions are honoured. Start with the common questions page, and never be afraid of a hard one.

Common questions →

Day 30

The month ends; the path doesn't

Pray all five, thank Allah for the month, and set one intention for the next.

Thirty days ago this was all foreign. Look what became normal. Keep the streak humble: one new surah a month, Jumu'ah when you can, and the five daily anchors. Welcome home.

Where to go next →

Finished? Alhamdulillah. The habits worth keeping forever: the five prayers, Jumu'ah, and a little Quran. Browse everything when you're ready for more.
